Sacrewell Education

Since 1964, Sacrewell has been part of The William Scott Abbott Trust, a charity founded to provide agricultural education for all.

Delivering enriching outdoor educational experiences to school pupils is fundamental to what we do at Sacrewell and welcoming young people to our beautiful countryside setting allows us to fulfil the aims of the William Scott Abbott Trust.

We invite your learners to explore our education programme in our beautiful countryside setting.

Farm Camp Residential

This popular programme has been running for several years and every summer we welcome groups of Key Stage 2 children for 1 and 2 night residential stays.

Children and their teachers sleep in bell tents in our camp area, located on the lawn of our Education Centre. Schools can choose from a programme of activities and all sessions are planned and led by our experienced Sacrewell team.

Our resident catering company Origin8 provide freshly cooked meals and groups can also get involved in picking, preparing and cooking their own snacks.

An evening at Sacrewell Farm Camp Residential

The site is closed to visitors and farm camp participants become part of the fabric of the farm. They can spend time at our natural stream area and play in the woodland before enjoying camp fire activities.

Part of farm camp is to help look after the animals we have at Sacrewell. Groups can get involved in feeding, cleaning out or grooming jobs and we encourage children to try new things. Past projects have included building a goat climbing
platform and herding the sheep to new grazing paddocks.

Choose from a variety of farm camp activities during your stay, including our larger environmental projects “Custodians of the Countryside”. By the time children leave Sacrewell we aim for them to have learnt a little about our countryside, farm life and to have had a wonderful time outdoors.

For full details on activities, camping, risk assessments and cost, please visit our farm camp residential page.

Seedlings Preschool Group

Does your child know how long it takes to grow a carrot and where their eggs come from?

Our staff and volunteers will help them to discover the answers to questions like these, whilst having lots of fun on the farm. Give them a breath of fresh air and a life long love of food, farming and countryside.

For full details on our preschool group please visit our Seedlings Preschool Group page.
